Chicago-based Dirtymoney is a techno producer and DJ working in a hardgroove- and tribal-leaning lane, shaded by touches of hard dance and trance. His sound draws on the raw, hypnotic energy of early-2000s records and the wider currents of global rave culture.
He began producing in 2014, first in hip-hop and trap, before a post-pandemic reset led him back to dance music. A pivotal moment arrived at ARC 2023, where seeing Sara Landry reframed his trajectory toward techno. Deep dives through YouTube and SoundCloud opened a path to hardgroove and tribal—sets by Samba Boys and Funk Assault shaped his approach to complex layering and multi-deck blends.
Over the past two years he’s transitioned from bar rooms to raves and clubs, sharpening a groove-forward style aimed squarely at the floor. His track “Stop Snitchin” appeared on local imprint Auda Records, a first step in a catalog he’s building from Chicago outward.
He stays close to the city’s underground, a regular presence at raves and club nights and a participant in Chicago Music Nexus and the Chicago Electronic Music Conference. With steady bookings in Detroit, he moves along the Chicago–Detroit corridor, contributing a focused, high-energy strain of techno grounded in community and craft.
