BCCO x SoundCloud New Faces is as programme to help spotlight and support the best emerging new talent in our industry. It is open to applicants from all over the world who meet the eligibility criteria.
For Season 5 we have a two stage application process.
In Stage 1 the judges will assess your application and your existing sets that you have on SoundCloud. Making it as a DJ is tough in this industry so you need to show the judges you have what it takes musically and also organisationally.
Follow these tips to get ready for Stage 1
- The number of social media followers you have is NOT relevant. As a new and emerging talent we don't expect you to have thousands of followers.
- Having a well organised Instagram profile that shows your talent IS relevant. This is what bookers will see as your "business card" on the internet. Make sure you profile looks tidy, your links work, you have a sensible bio and you use your IG to show off your music and your DJ life as well as possible.
- In Stage 1 you DO NOT send us a DJ set. Instead we will look at your SoundCloud profile at sets you have already made live. So make sure your SoundCloud profile is organised well. This is what bookers will look at when considering booking you. Make sure the sets you are most proud of are top of your profile. Give them sensible names. Make sure your links work. Remove or hide any old sets that you are not proud of or that show the wrong musical direction.
- Take care over your answers in the Stage 1 application form. This is all the judges have to go on
